Ce groupe comprend les silicates d'aluminium de soude, de potassium ou de chaux. Il s'agit du groupe de min\u00e9raux le plus abondant sur Terre. Ils repr\u00e9sentent environ 60% des roches expos\u00e9es, ainsi que des sols, des argiles et d'autres s\u00e9diments non consolid\u00e9s, et sont les principaux composants des syst\u00e8mes de classification des roches. Les min\u00e9raux inclus dans ce groupe sont les feldspaths orthoclase, microcline et plagioclase.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<div id=\"ultimate-heading-16806a20c20ce0dcc\" class=\"uvc-heading ult-adjust-bottom-margin ultimate-heading-16806a20c20ce0dcc uvc-7320\" data-hspacer=\"no_spacer\"  data-halign=\"left\" style=\"text-align:left\"><div class=\"uvc-heading-spacer no_spacer\" style=\"top\"><\/div><div class=\"uvc-main-heading ult-responsive\"  data-ultimate-target='.uvc-heading.ultimate-heading-16806a20c20ce0dcc h2'  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}' ><h2 style=\"font-weight:bold;color:#1e73be;\">Relation avec l'exploitation mini\u00e8re<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p>Les principaux \u00c9tats producteurs de feldspath sont la Caroline du Nord, la Virginie, la Californie, l'Oklahoma, l'Idaho, la G\u00e9orgie et le Dakota du Sud, par ordre d\u00e9croissant du tonnage estim\u00e9. Les transformateurs de feldspath ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 avoir r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 comme coproduits du mica et du sable siliceux.<\/p>\n<p>Le feldspath est extrait de grands corps granitiques (appel\u00e9s plutons par les g\u00e9ologues), de pegmatites (form\u00e9es lorsque les derniers stades fluides d'un granite en cours de cristallisation se concentrent dans de petites poches riches en liquide et en vapeur qui permettent la croissance de cristaux extr\u00eamement grands) et de sables compos\u00e9s principalement de feldspath.<\/p>\n<p>Le feldspath \u00e9tant un composant tr\u00e8s important de la cro\u00fbte terrestre, on suppose que l'offre de feldspath est plus que suffisante pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande pendant une tr\u00e8s longue p\u00e9riode. Les mines actuelles dans le monde entier r\u00e9pondent de mani\u00e8re ad\u00e9quate aux besoins en feldspath brut.<\/p>\n<p>L'extraction de feldspath en roche dure se fait par des m\u00e9thodes \u00e0 ciel ouvert, soit par le propri\u00e9taire de la mine, soit par des entrepreneurs. Apr\u00e8s le forage et l'abattage du minerai de feldspath, un broyage secondaire est effectu\u00e9 \u00e0 l'aide d'un boulet conventionnel. Le minerai est ensuite charg\u00e9 sur des camions \u00e0 l'aide d'une pelle hydraulique et transport\u00e9 jusqu'\u00e0 l'usine de concassage, qui est adjacente \u00e0 l'usine de flottation.<\/p>\n<p>Utilisations : Le feldspath est utilis\u00e9 pour fabriquer de la vaisselle, des carreaux de salle de bain et des carreaux de construction. Dans la production de c\u00e9ramique et de verre, le feldspath est utilis\u00e9 comme fondant. Le fondant est un mat\u00e9riau qui abaisse la temp\u00e9rature de fusion d'un autre mat\u00e9riau, en l'occurrence le verre.<\/p>\n<p>Substituts et sources alternatives<\/p>\n<p>Le feldspath peut \u00eatre remplac\u00e9 par d'autres min\u00e9raux et m\u00e9langes de min\u00e9raux aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques similaires. Les min\u00e9raux qui pourraient \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour remplacer le feldspath comprennent la pyrophyllite, les argiles, le talc et les m\u00e9langes feldspath-silice (quartz).
