Il s'agit d'un m\u00e9tal de transition brillant de couleur argent\u00e9e, de faible densit\u00e9 et de haute r\u00e9sistance. Le titane r\u00e9siste \u00e0 la corrosion dans l'eau de mer, l'eau r\u00e9gale et le chlore.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h3>Relation avec l'exploitation mini\u00e8re<\/h3>\n<p>Le titane est le neuvi\u00e8me \u00e9l\u00e9ment le plus abondant dans la cro\u00fbte terrestre (0,63% en masse) et le septi\u00e8me m\u00e9tal le plus abondant. Il est pr\u00e9sent sous forme d'oxydes dans la plupart des roches ign\u00e9es, dans les s\u00e9diments qui en d\u00e9rivent, dans les \u00eatres vivants et dans les masses d'eau naturelles. Sur les 801 types de roches ign\u00e9es analys\u00e9es par l'United States Geological Survey, 784 contenaient du titane. Sa proportion dans les sols est d'environ 0,5 \u00e0 1,5%.<\/p>\n<p>Les min\u00e9raux courants contenant du titane sont l'anatase, la brookite, l'ilm\u00e9nite, la p\u00e9rovskite, le rutile et la titanite (sph\u00e8ne). L'akaogiite est un min\u00e9ral extr\u00eamement rare compos\u00e9 de dioxyde de titane. Parmi ces min\u00e9raux, seuls le rutile et l'ilm\u00e9nite ont une importance \u00e9conomique, mais m\u00eame eux sont difficiles \u00e0 trouver en fortes concentrations. Environ 6,0 et 0,7 millions de tonnes de ces min\u00e9raux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 extraites en 2011, respectivement. D'importants gisements d'ilm\u00e9nite titanif\u00e8re existent dans l'ouest de l'Australie, au Canada, en Chine, en Inde, au Mozambique, en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, en Norv\u00e8ge, en Sierra Leone, en Afrique du Sud et en Ukraine. Environ 186 000 tonnes d'\u00e9ponges m\u00e9talliques de titane ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produites en 2011, principalement en Chine (60 000 t), au Japon (56 000 t), en Russie (40 000 t), aux \u00c9tats-Unis (32 000 t) et au Kazakhstan (20 700 t). Les r\u00e9serves totales de titane sont estim\u00e9es \u00e0 plus de 600 millions de tonnes.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h3>Utilisations<\/h3>\n<p>Le titane peut \u00eatre alli\u00e9 au fer, \u00e0 l'aluminium, au vanadium et au molybd\u00e8ne, entre autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments, pour produire des alliages solides et l\u00e9gers destin\u00e9s \u00e0 l'a\u00e9rospatiale (moteurs \u00e0 r\u00e9action, missiles et engins spatiaux), \u00e0 l'arm\u00e9e, aux processus industriels (produits chimiques et p\u00e9trochimiques, usines de dessalement, p\u00e2te \u00e0 papier et papier), \u00e0 l'automobile, \u00e0 l'agriculture, aux proth\u00e8ses m\u00e9dicales, aux implants orthop\u00e9diques, aux instruments et limes dentaires et endodontiques, aux implants dentaires, aux articles de sport, \u00e0 la bijouterie, aux t\u00e9l\u00e9phones portables et \u00e0 d'autres applications.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_inner vc_row-fluid\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-6\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div id=\"ultimate-heading-72746a20f971e1576\" class=\"uvc-heading ult-adjust-bottom-margin ultimate-heading-72746a20f971e1576 uvc-3070\" data-hspacer=\"no_spacer\"  data-halign=\"left\" style=\"text-align:left\"><div class=\"uvc-heading-spacer no_spacer\" style=\"top\"><\/div><div class=\"uvc-main-heading ult-responsive\"  data-ultimate-target='.uvc-heading.ultimate-heading-72746a20f971e1576 h2'  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}' ><h2 style=\"font-weight:bold;color:#1e73be;\">Processus d'extraction du titane<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h3>Processus de s\u00e9paration par gravit\u00e9 et par flottation<\/h3>\n<p>Le processus de s\u00e9paration par gravit\u00e9 est principalement utilis\u00e9 pour les mines de titane \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle et \u00e0 granularit\u00e9 grossi\u00e8re. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 concass\u00e9e, la mine de titane est envoy\u00e9e dans le s\u00e9parateur magn\u00e9tique, puis dans la goulotte en spirale pour une s\u00e9paration plus pouss\u00e9e. La s\u00e9paration par flottation est ensuite utilis\u00e9e pour les granulom\u00e9tries plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h3>Processus magn\u00e9tique et de flottation<\/h3>\n<p>Afin d'\u00e9conomiser les co\u00fbts de s\u00e9paration par flottation, la s\u00e9paration magn\u00e9tique sera utilis\u00e9e dans un premier temps, la mine de titane \u00e0 granularit\u00e9 fine sera envoy\u00e9e \u00e0 la s\u00e9paration par flottation. Cette m\u00e9thode permet de r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement la quantit\u00e9 de r\u00e9actifs de flottation utilis\u00e9s et peut \u00eatre facilement mise en \u0153uvre.<\/p>\n<h3>Classification B\u00e9n\u00e9ficiation conjointe<\/h3>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s classification, les granulats qualifi\u00e9s de la mine de titane peuvent \u00eatre soumis \u00e0 une s\u00e9paration par gravit\u00e9 pour obtenir un concentr\u00e9 de titane.
