What is Manganese ore?
Manganese ore is widely existing in the nature, almost all kinds of mineral ores and silicate rocks contain manganese ore. The most common types of manganese ores are anhydrous and hydrous manganese oxide and manganese carbonate. Now there are 150 kinds well-known manganese minerals, but the high grade manganese and can be enriched in a large amount of manganese ore with economic value only has 5-6 kinds. For example, the manganese ore grade of the Cara Hari mining area in South Africa is 30% – 50%, and the grade of manganese ore in the grout Island mining area of Australia is up to 40% – 50%; India, Kazakhstan and Mexico are middle grade manganese mineral resources. The grade of manganese in the ore is generally about 35%-40%; Ukraine, China and Garner are mainly low. The grade manganese ore is the main type, and the grade is generally lower than 30%. It can only be sold as a commercial ore (more than 35%) through mineral processing and artificial enrichment.
China’s manganese ore production is not low, but it still relies heavily on imports. First, China’s manganese ore resources are of low grade, and the resources available for exploitation are limited; the two is the large demand for manganese ore in China.
Manganese ore Applications:
Manganese ore and its compounds are used in various fields of the economy. The iron and steel industry is the most important field, with the amount of manganese accounted for 90% to 95%, mainly as deoxidizer and desulphurizer in the process of ironmaking and steelmaking, and used to make alloys. The remaining 10% ~ 5% of manganese is used in other industrial fields, such as the chemical industry (making various manganese containing salts), light industries (used for batteries, matches, printing lacquers, soap making, etc.), building materials industry (glass and ceramic colorants and fading agents), national defense industry, electronic industry, and environmental protection and agriculture and animal husbandry, etc. In short, manganese has a very important strategic position in the economy.
