How to Process the Coltan Ore Mining Plant Effectively?

Coltan ore raw material has alluvial type and hard rock type, different type ore will use different processing methods.

Alluvial Coltan Ore Mining Plant Process Flowchart

Alimentação: There are various kinds of feeding ways, depending on plant and material conditions. Have choices of vibration feeder, hopper, belt feeder, or wheel loader and excavator feed directly to coltan washing machine. If there are big stone, can make a grizzly bar on the máquina de alimentação or hopper to remove big waste stones.

Lavagem: Firstly, need to wash and clean the clay and mud in the raw material; most commonly used are lavador trommel coltan washing machine, coltan washing ecrã trommel ou máquina de lavar toros.

Coltan washing trommel scrubber is for washing material that has much sticky clay, trommel screen is for wash raw material that without much sticky clay. Different ore conditions will use different washing machines.

Peneiração: After washing, need to sieve out some bigger waste material; the underscreen slurry will go to the next separation machine. This sieving machine can be a trommel screen, a vibration screen, or a high-frequency vibration screen.

Separação primária: This process is for rough coltan separation; most often use a coltan jig separator. The concentrate ore from them will go to the final concentration machine.

Concentração final: The concentrate ore from the máquina de jigue will go to a coltan ore concentration shaking table for final concentration, and can get high-grade coltan concentrate ore.

Refinação: If you need very, very high-grade coltan, you need to use the refining machine to upgrade it. Usually, you can use a high-intensity dry magnetic separator to upgrade it by removing other magnetic minerals and non-magnetic minerals, so you can get much higher-grade coltan.

The feeding, primary separation, final concentration, and upgrading process are almost the same as the above alluvial coltan process.

Below are the crushing and grinding stage descriptions:

Trituração: This process is for crushing the big stone to a smaller size before grinding. The trituradores de pedra have a choice of rough jaw crusher, fine jaw crusher, cone crusher, hammer crusher, roller crusher, depending on the rock feeding size and process capacity to use which kind of crusher.

Moagem: After crushing the coltan stone to a smaller size, it needs to be ground into powder by a ball mill, moinho de panelas húmidas, or other grinding machine, so the coltan can released out from stone. Then go to the next coltan separation machine and concentration machine.
