Avantages

Les gasoline rock drill(internal combustion rock drill) is a portable and powerful drilling machine designed for drilling holes in rock, concrete, stone, and other hard materials. It integrates a two-stroke engine, an air compressor, and a drilling mechanism to bore blasting holes without requiring external power or pipelines. Powered by a gasoline engine, it does not require an external electrical power supply, making it particularly suitable for remote mining areas, quarrying sites, construction projects, and outdoor operations.

The gasoline rock drill combines strong drilling performance with excellent mobility and is widely used for blast-hole drilling, rock excavation, road construction, quarrying, and other field drilling applications.

【Main Categories of Gasoline Rock Drills】

  • Handheld Gasoline-Powered Rock Drills:Compact in size, relatively lightweight, and easy to move. Used for small-scale mines, quarries, rock blasting holes, and field construction. eg: YN27C, YN27J, YN27.
  • Rotary-Percussion Gasoline-Powered Rock Drills: The drill bit rotates while delivering impact blows. Used for drilling operations in medium-hard to hard rock.
  • Gas-Powered Rock Breakers(Percussion-Type Rock Drills): Primarily crush materials through impact. Used for rock crushing, concrete demolition, and road surface repair.

Gasoline rock drills can also be classified by application as follows: mining rock drills for underground and surface blasthole drilling, quarry rock drills for precision drilling in stone extraction operations, construction rock drills for excavation and infrastructure projects, and exploration and sampling drills.

【Common Gasoline Rock Drill Models】

  • YN27C – The All-Purpose Workhorse: The industry-standard YN27C handles multiple functions—drilling, splitting, breaking, and compacting—making it ideal for mining, quarrying, and construction. Built for rugged environments, it operates reliably in extreme temperatures (-40°C to 40°C) and delivers consistent performance in mobile outdoor projects.
  • YN30A – Heavy-Duty Drilling Specialist: Engineered for intense applications, the YN30A features a high-speed engine (2,700–3,000 r/min) and a 1.65L fuel tank for extended operation. Its robust construction suits deep-hole drilling in hard rock and high-intensity mine tunneling. The upgraded YN30E variant offers an electronic ignition system for easier startup.
  • YN27P – Demolition & Crushing Expert: Optimized for impact performance, the YN27P excels at breaking concrete, rock splitting, and demolition work. It switches seamlessly to crushing mode without part replacements, making it ideal for roads, foundations, and hard material removal while retaining basic drilling capability.
  • YN27J – Compact & Maintenance-Friendly: A lightweight and simplified model, the YN27J minimizes wear-prone components for easy operation and upkeep. It is perfect for small quarries, geological sampling, and emergency demolition where portability is critical.

【Key Features of Gasoline Rock Drills】

  • No external power needed, ideal for remote locations without electricity.
  • Compact, easy to transport, and self-powered for flexible job site movement.
  • Handles demanding drilling in hard rock, concrete, and stone.
  • Suitable for blast holes, anchor drilling, excavation, and construction tasks.
  • Ready to operate without complex cabling or electrical infrastructure.

Structure du produit

【Gasoline Rock Drills Structure】
The gasoline rock drill is composed of a gasoline engine, an air compressor, and a rock drill integrated into a double-handle body. The core components include:

  • Power Unit (Gasoline Engine): 2-stroke air-cooled engine (common in handheld models); Forced-air cooling system (for heavy-duty models like YN30A).
  • Compressor Assembly: Uses a synchronized system containing two pistons to compress air.
  • Rock Drilling Device: It houses the impact piston, a hexagonal drill rod, and a rotation mechanism to drive the drill bit into geological formations.
  • Auxiliary Structural Components: drill chuck, housing, control joystick, etc.

【Gasoline Rock Drills Working Principle】
The core principle of a gasoline-powered rock drill is to use a gasoline engine to provide power, which, through a mechanical transmission mechanism, generates impact and the corresponding rotation of the drill bit, causing the drill bit to continuously break up the rock and ultimately create a borehole.
1. After the gasoline engine is started, its mechanical power is transferred through the transmission mechanism to the drilling system.
2. The drilling mechanism generates the required rotational and/or impact motion. The drill bit contacts the rock surface and breaks the material as the operator advances the drill.
3. The broken rock is progressively removed from the hole, allowing the drill to penetrate deeper into the formation.
