The Makhonjwa Mountains in South Africa, behind the Barberton in Mpamalanga, South Africa, date back to 3.57 billion years ago, is one of the first landlands in the world to show off the sea, showing the oldest surface on earth.
There is now a 37-kilometre trail that crosses the mountains. There are many signs along the way that detail the geological changes in the earth and the first visible organism on Earth.
Therefore, it is also called “the birthplace of life on earth.” In 2018, the Barberton Marvaa Mountains of South Africa were listed as World Heritage Sites.
