Cyclosizer

The cyclosizer (also commonly referred to as a Cyclone Particle Size Analyzer) is an instrument for particle size analysis based on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation. Its primary function is to analyze the particle size distribution of materials with diameters smaller than 74 μm (0.074 mm), and it is widely utilized across industries such as mining, metallurgy, geology, and coal.

Our BXF-model cyclosizer features a continuous feeder, allowing for uninterrupted material addition without the need to halt operation; furthermore, the material flow can be cut off at any time. Currently, this instrument is capable of continuously separating materials into seven distinct size fractions: 74–54 μm, 54–41 μm, 41–30 μm, 30–20 μm, 20–10 μm, 10–8 μm, and <8 μm.

Compared to traditional gravity sedimentation methods, this system offers the following advantages:

1. High Classification Accuracy: The centrifugal shear forces effectively break down material flocculation, while the axial backflow repeatedly elutriates fine particles that may have become entrained within the coarse fractions, thereby keeping classification errors within a margin of ±5%.
2. High Speed: The centrifugal field accelerates particle sedimentation, allowing a single analysis to be completed in just 5 to 30 minutes—representing an efficiency improvement of more than 20-fold compared to traditional continuous elutriators.
3. Flexible Operation: The flagship BXF model features a newly added continuous feeder, enabling uninterrupted material addition without the need to stop the machine; the material flow path can be cut off at any moment, ensuring enhanced operational continuity.
